Portable Generators
Generators come in many different sizes and prices. The size is
determined by the wattage you need to power the things that
are important to you if you lose power.
Price is determined by the wattage you need, and the size and
type of engine that runs the generator. The engines can be
designed to be ran continuously, for commercial applications
or construction. These are usually more expensive, but are
built to last. The other type is made for occasional use, such as
power outages, and are usually cheaper.

We can provide you with 6, 8, 10, or 12 circuit transfer
switches sized to your generator to run your most necessary
circuits in your home or business. Usually these would include
your well, if you have one, furnace, sub pump, refrigerator,
freezer, and primary room lighting.
These systems operate with small portable generators that run
on gasoline. When you lose power, you pull the generator out
of the garage, and plug a cord from the generator to a special
outlet that feeds the transfer switch. You then turn the
individual switches to the generator position, and you have
power. When the utility power is restored, you just flip the
switches back to "line" and put your generator away.
The draw back to these systems is that you are limited to the
number of things you can provide power to. There will always
be something that will not be able to be supplied with the
power from the generator.
For most people, this is the most economical way to go.

Standby Power Generators
These generators are usually larger than their portable cousins,
and provide you with more power. They are stationary
mounted, and permanently hooked up. They can run on LP
gas, natural gas, or diesel fuel. They can be set up to
automatically start as soon as the utility line loses power, and
automatically switch over your entire house or building, or just
the circuits that you want, depending on the size of the
generator. These systems are a bit pricier than the smaller
alternative, but the conveyance and ease is worth it to those
who don't want to go without power
